The human is characterized by bipedalism. Therefore, this feature allows the upper limbs to move freely to perform other tasks. However, this is done at the cost of a more precarious overall balance. Spinal balance can be defined as the balance between outside forces acting on the spine and the muscle response of the trunk, under sensorineural regulation, to maintain stable standing posture, both dynamic and static. Many measurements and parameters have been defined over the years to determine this balance. The aim of this effort is to standardize sagittal balance parameters, to diagnose sagittal imbalance and to determine treatment options. In this paper, we will discuss some essential pelvic and spinal parameters and measurements with their radiological and clinical features.
