In the treatment of patients with neck pain due to cervical disc disease, if there is no urgent need for surgical intervention, conservative methods are initially employed. Our treatment goals include reducing inflammation during the acute phase for pain management, facilitating early mobilization while maintaining physiological loading on joints and soft tissues; achieving pain-free full joint range of motion for the damaged tissue and neighboring structures during the subacute and chronic phases, ensuring optimal strength, endurance, and coordination of the neuromuscular system affecting the spine, facilitating a return to normal activities, and preventing further damage. Conservative treatment approaches encompass patient education, rest, orthoses, pharmacological treatment, physical therapy modalities, and exercise therapies. The treatment is tailored to the individual patient and varies based on symptoms and findings. The most effective conservative treatment is a multimodal approach that includes methods suitable for the patients specific needs.
