Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that progresses by causing damage to the spine and sacroiliac joint. As a result of the inflammatory processes that progress with bone regeneration between the vertebrae, the appearance of fusion in the vertebrae is observed as 'Bamboo spine'. Patients experience posture disorders with an increase in the angle of kyphosis over time. In this disease, where there is a decrease in bone mineral density, an increase in the risk of osteoporosis and fractures, the problems encountered are an increase in the angle of separation and kyphosis, especially after spinal fractures seen after trauma. In this article, the management of kyphosis in ankylosing spondylitis and its trauma will be discussed.
