There are many ways to use a 3D printer for spine surgery. Practices such as surgeons` preoperative planning, student and resident training, and production of special implants are just a few of the areas. Personalized materials produced with a 3D printer can facilitate surgical planning, improve the patient-physician relationship and provide a clearer understanding of the disease and treatment processes. Additionally, implantable personalized products may improve surgical outcomes, resulting in fewer complications and more effective treatment response in the long term. For this reason, we believe that the development and widespread use of 3D printing for spinal surgery can make significant contributions to the clinical process.
