Dermal sinus tract, a congenital pathology, belongs to the group of occult spinal dysraphisms. It may cause clinical status due to recurrent meningitis attacks, tethered cord syndrome or compression effect of epidermoid masses that can be develop. Although it is most commonly seen in the lumbosacral region, it can be encountered in the craniospinal area, most often at any level in the midline. The most important factor affecting long-term results in cases with dermal sinus tract is performing surgical treatment in early infancy, before infection, inclusion tumors, tethered cord syndrome develop and neurological deterioration occurs.
