Cervical spondylotic myelopathy is the most common disorder of the spinal cord in adults. In recent years, some improvements have occurred in the natural history of the disease, diagnostic criteria, the value of radiologic investigations, and other tests. There have also been some improvements in the indications and types of surgical treatment. This review tries to clarify many points in the light of evidence-based medicine.
