Caudal block is an epidural anesthesia technique that commonly used for surgical anesthesia and pain management. It is performed via distally of dural sac by inserting a needle to entrance into the spinal epidural space through the sacral hiatus. Caudal epidural block is an effective technique as well as epidural and spinal anesthesia; however, it had not widened using for pain management. Moreover, it should be kept in mind as an alternative method in case of closing of S1 foramen with iliac wings and/or transverse process. In this paper, we explain the technique and indications of caudal epidural block.
