Entrapment neuropathies, in our daily lives caused by mechanical compression of the peripheral nervous looking at specific anatomical region during one of the group of diseases we face quite often. entrapment neuropathy of the lower extremities is rare than the upper extremities. Compression neuropathy of the lower extremities affects lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, femoral nerve, obturator nerve, the sciatic nerve, the common peroneal nerve and its branches, the posterior tibial nerve and interdigital nerves. The most common entrapment neuropathies are Meralgia paresthetica, piriformis syndrome and tarsal tunnel syndrome. Optimal improvement can be achieved with early diagnosis of the etiology of entrapment neuropathies, well defined level of the lesion, serial clinical evaluation, electrophysiological studies, radiologic studies and the best timing of treatment. There are 2 types of treatment in Entrapment neuropathy includes the non-surgical (conservative) and the surgical treatments. The most important approach is to eliminate the primary cause of entrapment neuropathy. In addition, limiting activation, the proper positioning, weight loss, diuretics, topical steroids, vitamin B6, orthosis, TENS, cold or hot applying are recommended.
